About the Session
This session will be held at the Swissôtel Chicago; includes a 15-minute break.
This session will provide a detailed review of the women physician leadership landscape, including the limited number of female physician CEOs and CMOs. In addition, it will explore the systemic factors that have led to this gender disparity and continue to limit progress. Presenters will discuss the benefits of increased representation and discuss why the healthcare field needs to strive for improvement. The session also will focus on institutional and individual factors associated with success for women physicians in leadership, displaying the expertise of the panelists for a candid, vulnerable discussion about their paths to leadership. There also will be opportunities for meaningful dialogue and connection among attendees since relationship building, mentorship and sponsorship are such an essential part of success and career development.
