ACHE 2023 Congress on Healthcare Leadership

In collaboration with the American College of Healthcare Executives, Dr. Edwards-Ojeba was thrilled and honored to moderate two knowledge-filled panels. The first session, "Women Healthcare Leaders Series: Finding Your Strengths" with speakers Ruth Williams-Brinkley and Dr. Audrey Gregory, PhD. This session addressed strategies to effectively support team members individually and collaboratively to ensure a team, department and organization that consistently exceeds expectations. The second session, "What's Next? Effective Strategies to Promote Clinician Well-Being" with experts on physician wellness Dr. Jonathan Ripp and Dr. Christine Sinsky. In this session, they were able to cover the limitations of individual wellness initiatives in combating burnout and the role of policy in enacting lasting and effective change. Each session had 690+ attendees!

Where Wellness Meets Work: System-Based Solutions to Address Burnout and Promote Clinician Wellbeing

In collaboration with the American College of Healthcare Executives, Dr. Edwards-Ojeba presented a fun, informative-filled seminar focused on system-based solutions to help address burnout and promote clinician wellbeing. The seminar provided healthcare leaders tools to examine the extent and impact of burnout internally; as well as, the solutions to develop a roadmap toward identifying and building the necessary strategies to prioritize and support clinician wellness.

Traditionally, in medical education, there is limited emphasis on personal and leadership development. Physicians often leave training with excellent clinical knowledge, but less formal training around personal and leadership development, as it relates to self-care, vulnerability, and meaningful connection with fellow physicians. Through this roundtable, we will explore a robust tool kit geared towards better supporting physician well-being and mental health.
